WARDOGS Login Queue: What It Means and What to Do

On launch day WARDOGS had far more players than the servers could take at once, so the game put everyone in a login queue. This page explains what that queue is, when waiting is genuinely the fix, and the mistakes to avoid while you wait.

Why there is a queue

Early Access opened on 10 Sep 2026 to over a million copies sold and roughly 338,000 concurrent players on day one. The servers physically could not admit everyone at once, so WARDOGS regulates entry with a queue. Players reported positions in the hundreds of thousands in the first hours; BULKHEAD restarted servers in batches and shipped a hotfix to shorten waits.

When waiting really is the fix

If servers are up and full, the queue is doing its job — staying in line is the correct action. BULKHEAD stated that players were admitted in controlled batches as capacity allowed. Reinstalling, deleting settings or restarting your router will not move you up the queue.

Key

A queue that is slowly decreasing means the servers are alive and letting players in. A queue that never moves, combined with the whole lobby having the same problem, points at a server issue — check the server status page.

What to check while you wait

  1. Confirm you are on the latest build — the day-one hotfix required a relaunch and update download.
  2. Keep the client running in the queue; reconnecting from scratch tends to push you to the back.
  3. Watch the official Discord and @WARDOGS for capacity updates.
  4. Read the server problems guide if you also cannot connect at all.

Common mistakes

  • Don't keep uninstalling/reinstalling — it does not change queue position.
  • Don't report the queue as a bug to the developers; it is expected under launch load and they track it on Discord.
⚠ Verification

Queue behaviour reflects the launch window. We will update this page when stable post-launch queue logic is confirmed rather than speculate.

FAQ

How long does the WARDOGS queue take?

At launch, reports ranged from minutes to hours depending on the wave and region — some saw six-figure positions at the peak. BULKHEAD gradually expanded capacity through launch day.

Should I reconnect if my queue moves slowly?

No — staying in line is better. Reconnecting usually puts you at the back.

Is the queue a sign the game is broken?

No — it is the expected result of more demand than capacity. It is not an outage and not something reinstalling fixes.
